Pulpit and Prayer Leading
I am a devoted prayer-leader dedicated to cultivating an environment where people feel comfortable singing and praying. By combining new and old Jewish music and texts, I strive to empower individuals to discover, cultivate and nurture their Jewish identities. Ingenuity and critical thinking, combined with my ability to create both professional and personal relationships, allow me to thrive in any congregation, no matter how complex and dynamic.
While studying at HUC, I worked for two years at Temple Adas Israel in Sag Harbor with Rabbi Dan Geffen, and two years at The Community Synagogue in Port Washington with Cantor Claire Franco. These years of being mentored directly by Cantor Franco and Rabbi Geffen have fostered my Cantorial leadership while being great sources of knowledge for me to turn to.

Youth Engagement and Education
My drive to become a Cantor started at Summer Camp. Over 10 years of summer camp experience has made me passionate about engaging young people and continuing the Jewish tradition I learned from my counselors and teachers. As a song leader at camp, I witnessed the power of music to transform individuals while encouraging connection with community and culture.
This experience continues through B Mitzvah tutoring. At Temple Adas Israel I tutored my first student from start to finish to Bar Mitzvah. This experience was the beginning of actualizing my passion for educating the young members of our community.

Performances
I have been privileged to have extensive work in operas, musicals, choirs, and shows from 2013-2020 in Colorado and Jerusalem. I love being able to create moments of memory, especially with others and all of these experiences have done exactly that.
This particular choral performance, featuring HUC’s own Cantor Benjie Ellen Schiller, Cantor Josh Breizter, (now) Cantor Sydney Michaeli, Cantor Faith Steinsnyder, myself and other carefully selected performers, celebrated the 400th anniversary of the publication of "Hashirim Asher Lishlomo" by Salamone Rossi at Merkin Hall in the Kaufman Music Center.
